š Scripture Reading:
Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NIV)
āA time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak.ā
š Reflection:
As believers, we are often taught to speak life, speak truth, and speak up. But Scripture reminds us there is also a time to be silent.
Silence is not weaknessāit is wisdom.
Itās not always a sign of retreat; sometimes, itās a divine strategy.
There will be seasons when you feel the need to explain yourself, respond to unfairness, or speak into every situation. But the Holy Spirit teaches discernment. Not every moment calls for our voice. Some moments call for restraint. For peace. For stillness.
This verse in Ecclesiastes invites us to pause and ask:
āLord, is this a time to speak or a time to be still?ā
Whether itās letting go of a past conversation, staying quiet in a situation that would drain you, or simply honoring your own boundariesāGod gives us permission to choose wisely.
Letās not confuse quiet strength with weakness.
Letās not confuse peace with passivity.
True wisdom knows when to speakāand when to be still.
šš¾ Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that wisdom lives not just in our words, but in our timing.
Teach us to listen to the still, small voice of Your Spirit.
Help us know when to speak upāand when to stay quiet in peace.
Give us discernment in our conversations, confidence in our boundaries, and grace in our silence.
We trust You to fight our unseen battles and to guide our every word.
In Jesusā name,
Amen.
šNotes:
ā¢Sometimes silence is your boundary, not your burden.
ā¢Wisdom isnāt just in knowing what to sayābut when to say it.
ā¢God sees what happens in silence. He honors your restraint.
ā¢Let peace be your confirmation, not peopleās
