I didn’t grow up around bullying, so I never really understood it—until I experienced it in the workplace.
And not just subtle stuff. I’ve seen physical aggression.
I’ve seen people spit in shared sinks.
Lift their foot into places they shouldn’t.
I’ve seen someone intentionally bump into a coworker in a locker room… while no one else was supposed to be watching.
But I was watching.
And I’ve been on the receiving end too.
At first, you question yourself:
“Is it me? Am I overreacting?”
Because the people doing it are often loud, well-connected, or even considered “untouchable.”
But then you start hearing the stories. You see that nervous laugh from someone who just got bullied in broad daylight and can’t believe it just happened.
You witness the silence, the discomfort, the quiet retreats into self-doubt.
And then it clicks:
You’re not imagining it.
This does happen.
And it’s been happening.
The only thing that makes it powerful is the culture of silence protecting it.
So why do we stay quiet?
Because sometimes speaking up makes you the target.
But here’s the thing—I’m not staying quiet anymore.
This is just one story. There are more.
And maybe by sharing, someone else will feel less alone.
If this resonates with you, I see you.
You’re not too sensitive.
You’re just aware. And that’s not a weakness—it’s strength.
